The Scattered People is a collective of asylum seekers, refugees and kindred spirits who use participatory music to promote community and cultural development, health and well-being, and social justice for asylum seekers and refugees in Australia.

Operating since the early 2000s, we use participatory song writing and singing to bring direct relief and support to asylum seekers and refugees in the greater Brisbane area in Australia. A trademark of our work is that we also use collaborative song writing and professional level recording processes to bring the largely unheard stories of asylum seekers and refugees to national and international audiences.

We're glad you came to visit us! Please have a listen to some of our songs and stories while you're here.

The Scattered People is a program of the broader registered charity and tax deductible gift recipient organisation Sweet Freedom Pty Ltd. If you'd like to know more about Sweet Freedom please visitwww.sweetfreedom.org.au
